As the Director-General of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD), and on behalf of the dedicated staff of the Centre, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our very own Super Falcons — Nigeria’s Senior Women’s National Football Team — on their historic and well-deserved victory at the 2025 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), held in Rabat, Morocco.
Watching our Super Falcons rise from a 2–0 setback to triumph over the host nation and secure their 10th WAFCON title was not only thrilling — it was deeply inspiring. Their performance showcased not just football excellence but the very spirit of the Nigerian woman: bold, determined, resilient, and unstoppable.
They came, they saw, and they conquered — once again reminding Africa and the world that Nigerian women are a force to reckon with. Their courage, team spirit, and tenacity have made our nation proud and provided a shining example for millions of young girls across Nigeria.
As a woman and a leader, I am particularly proud of the message this victory sends. It is a powerful statement about the potential of Nigerian women to excel, lead, and transform societies when given the opportunity.
This is more than a win on the pitch — it is a national moment of pride and a rallying call for us to continue creating platforms that nurture and celebrate the brilliance of women and girls.
At MBNCWD, I reaffirm my personal and institutional commitment to advancing programmes that empower women, inspire the next generation of female leaders, and build a Nigeria where every girl can dream big — and achieve even bigger.
