The Director-General of Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD), Honourable Dr Asabe Vilita Bashir, joins the President, Federal Government and rest of Nigerians in mourning the death of the former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who passed on in a London clinic on Sunday 13th July 2025.
Honourable Dr Bashir, in reflecting on the life and legacy of the former president, stated that he was a leader who have left an indelible mark on the nation. The former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR served as a civilian president for two terms before handing over to the present administration.
The MBNCWD Boss describe him as a visionary leader who implemented policies that protected the territorial integrity of the country with his leadership style. His commitment in protecting and deepening the democratic structures of the nation improved the lives of countless Nigerians and left an impact on our nation’s development.
She stated that the late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR will be fondly remember for his integrity, compassion and determination in ensuring that the nation remains an indivisible entity under his administration and after, while noting that the nation will continue to appreciate his unwavering commitment to the anti-corruption crusade, which endeared him to Nigerians.
Honourable Dr Bashir concluded with a prayer that the Almighty Allah (SWT) may forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus to be his final abode and grant his immediate family and Nigerians the grace of Allah to bear his demise.
